So Memorial day Thinking about the friends and family who have served in the military, thinking about my grandfather.. Never knew him he died in France somewhere in WWII. Blood sugar was 102 this morning... Big surprise ! I ate everything last night. Just have felt weird the last few days. The wasp sting really does me in. Headache, some nausea running to the bathroom every little bit. Just makes me ill for 3 or 4 days. Not to mention that my hand and arm were swollen. Maybe I do need an epi pen ? Need to stay away from the wasps for sure ! Larry and I moved the little freezer from the country Friday put it down here in the garage. It was just sitting up there. Ashamed to admit it full of road kill. Larry had been going to skin and tan. And I dont know how many squirrel tails. We brought the big metal swing back too. Bought the paint yesterday and we will put it up on the swingset here I am excited about that ! The swingset will be brown and the swing will be blue I think, sort of blends in nicely with all the flowers. The yard is doing well. Tomatoes YUM ! we are eating yellow ones right now and a few cherry and grape ones. Wait till some of the big ones get ripe. The roma bush is loaded down and so is the early girl over here on the wooden fence. Have been having a great time gardening. The herbs are doing well. Been drying some. Need to cut back the basil. Sounds like a trip to Lynns for a pesto lunch huh ? She has one of those food processors.. which is very nice for pesto you dont need as much oil and I like to do mine with pumpkin seeds instead of pine nuts. They are really good and much cheaper. ha ha ha I was reading somewhere that folks use spinach in pesto to stretch it out. We might have to try that as well. Been trying to walk every day. Larry and I stroll after supper. Easier during the week when there is some set time for supper. Rode the bike yesterday he was tired and that was easier. I like riding and Joey tunes it up for me when I go out there. Made the loop out there at Lynns 2 miles. Now that does not sound like much Im sure but for me it was awesome. Cause I get jelly legs riding very far. Went fishing on Saturday off the boat dock there at Darbonne nice day very windy. I caught about 7 or 8 little ones. and we threw them back came home and got a take out fish dinner. Got mine grilled with green beans and coleslaw instead of the fries that Mother and Larry got. Dont miss them much. Snitch a couple now and then. Need to get back to more salad and green veggies though. Less chocolate even the dark chocolate. It is easier to grab a piece of that for the punies than to get a piece of cheese or something. Works really well too. They say it is good for you but man cannot live by chocolate alone. That is a thought though. My blood sugar numbers have been good nothing stellar the 102 this morning was great we had a steak dinner yesterday little early had a nice salad and corn on the cob. So you know I ate it. It is not humanly possible to pass up fresh butter and sugar corn on the cob... Well it is not possible for this human anyway. I can skip the baked potato. Mrs Clouarte came down and ate with us. Nice to see her. She will be moving soon and we will really miss her. So yesterday evening I had chocolate (of course ) popcorn a piece of fish and a mini glucerna bar not to mention the occasional ginger snap. Just nibbled or seemed to all evening. Could not quite get satisfied, no peanuts that I could find guess Ill have to get some at Wal Mart later. Or some almonds those work real well. Guess I will close this novel and see how the rest of the day goes here. Had a bowl of raisin bran for breakfast well I ate half a cup of it. LOTS of carbs there. but it was handy and I wanted it. First bowl of cold cereal since I was diagnosed. So we shall see... Im off ..tune in again for more rantings
