4/5/11

So  blood sugar at 5:30 this morning was 100 had sugar free oatmeal added some cinnamon, and almond milk. It really is not much of a milk substitute as far as drinking it. But I dont drink much milk anyway. Like a little with cereal and such but it usually does not like me. Went back to bed, strange dreams last night dont sleep as well when that happens. Had to go to the post office dropped a note to my brother, and had to mail back that darn phone that never worked right. 3 hours on the phone with AT&T told them I was going to charge them for my time. Ha ha ha Mother and I went to Wal Mart we had a good time hauled home 4oo pounds of cow manure.. I got most of it put out, 3 bags left. Thought when I got up this morning would set the world on fire and get a bunch of things done... NOT we planted some green beans, and some zuccinni some cucumbers and we have several small tomatoes on the plants. Oh and some purple cone flowers. Love those hope they come on up. We are working from seeds. But I love fresh green beans... :) and squash. . So I was looking on the internet for some low carb diabetic snacks... Sort of stuff for in the evening while we watch tv Larry and Mother are big snackers, and now so am I ha ha so there was this recipe for deviled eggs.. OMG I will post it but these were awesome. We all liked them but Mother said they needed some pickle relish... Uh huh and Mushroom soup and velveeta cheese you have to use all of those things when you cook in the South. Especially if you are Baptist and have to take a covered dish... Well  thats what they say. And the last church supper we went to confirmed this pretty much. It is odd being from up North ha ha a damned yankee it is very different here. Things are spicier and greens are served almost everywhere.Thats nice you cannot even get them to cook in Ohio.. You can get spinach but thats about it. No greens no peas no lima beans or butter beans. No speckled butter beans crowder peas not to mention cream peas ,lady peas or zipper peas..You can get green beans and corn. But the diversity here is much more appealing. Blood sugar before lunch was 89 no snacks between breakfast and lunch, and it was 1:00 p.m. had fresh lettuce and chicken salad then had a generous handful of trail mix only real carbs in that was the dried cranberries. Worked out in the yard hauled all the manure. Lynn came by and we played with the dogs. Had a nice visit. Cooked supper.. Made the loaded deviled eggs.. we had roast with rice and gravy purple hull peas cornbread steamed cabbage and a green salad. I skipped the peas and cornbread, Blood sugar was 101 before we ate. Had a small scoop of rice hard to eat roast without the rice... sigh  So I am done testing for tonight think this is going pretty well. Just takes some planning and some research.. Having a good time trying new recipes thats a blessing that has come out of this. Well I am off for tonight.. Tune in again tomorrow same bat time same bat channel !
